These two beautiful gondolas were on the Rio Nuovo Canal: one of the main canals leading off West from the Grand Canal. This canal has its fair amount of tourists, but nothing like those hustling around the Canal Grande. There are also about the same number of tourists as there are locals in this area. There are a number of cafes on the Rio Nuovo (especially at the station end) with fair prices (for Venice). Buildings are generally modern, but in the old style. Definitely worth a walk through.
